Sheebah Karungi, born on November 11, 1989, is a multifaceted talent hailing from Uganda. Initially recognized for her prowess in dancing, she transitioned into the realms of singing and acting, carving a niche for herself in the entertainment industry.
Raised in Kawempe, a district within Uganda's bustling capital, Kampala, Sheebah was nurtured by a single mother. Her educational journey commenced at Kawempe Muslim Primary School, but she diverged from the traditional path, opting to pursue her passion for performance arts. At the age of 15, she delved into professional dancing, marking the inception of her captivating journey.
Joining the dance ensemble known as Stingers provided Sheebah with an avenue to showcase her talents and earn a livelihood. However, it was her stint with Obsessions Music Group in 2006 that catalyzed her evolution as an artist. Amidst her tenure with Obsessions, her affinity for music burgeoned, leading her to record two tracks before venturing out to forge her solo path.
In 2010, Sheebah made her official foray into the music scene with the release of "Kunyenyenza," produced by Washington and penned by Cindy. This endeavor paved the way for subsequent successes, including "Bulikyekola," featuring vocals by KS Alpha, and "Baliwa," with contributions from Coco Finger. However, it was the release of "Automatic," penned by Sizzaman, that marked a significant turning point in her solo career.
The acclaim garnered by "Automatic" propelled Sheebah into the limelight, setting the stage for the release of "Ice Cream," a collaboration with Sizzaman that resonated widely with audiences, receiving extensive airplay and favorable reviews. This momentum continued with subsequent hits like "Twesana," solidifying her position as a formidable force in the Ugandan music scene.
In 2014, Sheebah unveiled her debut album, "Ice Cream," comprising five tracks, including the titular hit and "Jordan." The EP garnered widespread acclaim, earning her accolades such as Best Female Artist. Her journey is a testament to her tenacity, talent, and unwavering dedication to her craft, establishing her as a revered figure in Uganda's entertainment landscape.
