Mirembe Racheal, known by her stage name Recho Rey, is a burgeoning figure in Uganda's hip-hop scene, distinguishing herself as a singer and songwriter. Rising swiftly among the ranks of female hip-hop artists in the country, Recho Rey's journey to prominence began with her participation in the Who is Who challenge, a pivotal moment that provided her with a platform to launch her career.
Born on April 5, 1998, in Kireka, a suburb of Kampala, Uganda's capital, Recho Rey is the eldest of three daughters in her family. She pursued her education at Makula Primary School before attending Namboole High School for her secondary education and later Standard College for her advanced studies.
From a young age, Recho Rey harbored a profound passion for music, and it was during the Who is Who challenge in late 2017 that she seized the opportunity to showcase her talent. Over a beat crafted by Ugandan rapper FeffeBussi, she delivered her own lyrical rendition, garnering attention and acclaim.
