### Judith Babirye: Gospel Music Artist and Politician
#### Biography Judith Babirye is a renowned gospel singer and politician from Uganda. She serves as the senior pastor at "New Life Deliverance Church" in Makindye Division, southeast of Kampala, Uganda's capital. Additionally, she represented the Buikwe District Women Constituency in Uganda's 10th Parliament (2016–2021).
#### Early Life and Education Born on September 23, 1977, in Nyenga, Buikwe District, to Mr. and Mrs. Mukooza, Judith Babirye's educational journey began at Nalinya Lwantale Primary School in Luweero District. She pursued her O-Levels at Ndejje Senior School and completed her A-Levels at Iganga Secondary School, obtaining her High School Diploma in 1998. She later attended Makerere University, Uganda's oldest and largest public university, graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in Tourism.
#### Musical Background Judith Babirye's musical talents emerged early. While in Senior Two at Ndejje Secondary School, she won the music composition festival by writing the school song. She also wrote the school song at Iganga Secondary School, marking the start of her musical career.
In 2006, her debut song "Beera Nange" won the Pearl of Africa Music Award for Best Gospel Single. She has since released several hits including "Wambatira," "Omusaayi gwa Yesu," "Ekitibwa kyo Mukama," and "Maama."
