    Regarding his upbringing and education, John Blaq, a Musoga hailing from Uganda's Jinja district, was born on July 16, 1996, to Mr. Musa Waiswa Zodolo and Mrs. Annet Nabirye. He was raised by his aunt in Bweyogerere, near Kampala, due to financial constraints faced by his parents. His aunt supported his education since his parents couldn't afford it.

    John attended Lwanda Primary School and Hassan Tourabi Primary School before proceeding to Bweyogerere Secondary School for both his O-Level and A-Level education. Despite facing hardships, including occasional hunger, he remained determined and focused on his education and music aspirations.

    His interest in music sparked during high school, particularly through participation in rap battles, where he consistently showcased his talent. However, he decided against pursuing hip-hop professionally in Uganda due to its perceived limited financial prospects, opting instead for dancehall and raga styles.

    In the studio, John recorded his debut track, "More Fire," under the guidance of renowned Ugandan producer Andy Music. His subsequent hit, "Tukwatagane," gained significant popularity in Uganda, propelling him into the limelight and securing lucrative endorsement deals.

    John attributes his success to unwavering focus, patience, support from reliable individuals, avoiding unnecessary pitfalls, and seeking guidance through prayer. He also adopted "Aya Baasi" as his signature phrase, using it as a motivational mantra during studio sessions, which resonated well with his audience.

    Drawing inspiration from the late Mowzey Radio, whose lyrical depth and melodious voice left a lasting impact, John Blaq found his musical direction and drive to pursue a career in the industry.
    Internationally, he admires Burna Boy, a prominent Nigerian artist, for his unique style.
