Geoffrey Lutaaya is a multifaceted Ugandan businessman, musician, politician, father, and husband. He founded and leads the DE New Eagles Band Group. Recently, he has turned his focus to politics and plans to run for Member of Parliament for Kakuuto County in Rakai District during the 2021 General Elections.
Known for his hard work in music, Lutaaya has amassed considerable wealth, making him one of Uganda's richest musicians. He is an Afro-pop singer with a soft, melodic voice.
**Early Life and Education**
Geoffrey Lutaaya was born to Nelson Kaboggoza, who passed away at 92 in 2016 after battling cancer and high blood pressure, and his mother, who died in 2019 after four years of illness. He grew up in Mitti Ebiri, Kakuuto, Rakai District.
Lutaaya attended Mitti Ebiri Primary School in Kyotera and Mbuye Primary School in Rakai, completing his primary education. He later attended Kololo High School in the early 1990s but did not take his O-Level exams due to his involvement in music.
In 2018, he returned to school at Makerere Day and Evening School for Adults (MAECA) in Kampala to retake his O-Levels, where he achieved a total score of 62, placing him in division four. He received an F9 in Geography, History, and Commerce, a Pass 8 in CRE, and credits 5 and 6 in English and Luganda, respectively.
In 2019, Geoffrey enrolled in an institution equivalent to A-Level studies but has not disclosed his results or the name of the institution. He has promised to reveal this information when required by the Electoral Commission as he considers running for the parliamentary seat for Kakuuto County in the 2021 General Elections.
