Geo Steady, an R&B artist, originally named Kigozi George William, hails from Uganda, where he has made significant strides as a singer, songwriter, and producer. Renowned by his stage name, Geosteady, he clinched the 2016 Uganda Entertainment Award for Best Collaboration for his contribution to the track "SAME WAY," a collaborative effort.
His accolades extend to winning the Best Zouk category at the 2016 HiPipo Music Awards, followed by the titles of Best Song and Best R&B Contemporary Artist at the 2017 HSMAs and ZZINA 2017 respectively.
EARLY LIFE
Born on April 1, 1990, in Mulago, Uganda, Kigozi George William, the sixth child in a family of six, exhibited a penchant for music from a young age. Active in the school choir during his formative years, he pursued his education at St. Henry's Primary School in Ndikutamadda, St. Henry's College in Gangu for O-levels, and Masaka Secondary School for A-levels.
Recognizing his passion for music, he transitioned into a career in the industry, initially as an audio producer in 2011 and later as a prominent musician in 2012.
MUSICAL JOURNEY
Throughout his musical journey, Geosteady has released an array of tracks including "Mbuuza," "Ntunulira," "Lwambeera," "Nawuuma," "Mpita," "Apaana," "Viola," "Get Up Speak Out," "African Baibe," "Silubala," "Kayirigombe," "Lovenjitis," "Come to Me," "Wakikyenga," "No More Edit," "Omufeere," "Take You Home," "Same Way," and "Owooma." Collaborations with renowned artists like Eddy Kenzo, Lydia Jazmine, Don Mc, Navio, Lisa Viola, Charly & Nina have further enriched his portfolio.
Geosteady's performances have graced diverse audiences in South Africa (Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town), Rwanda, Dubai, and notably, he holds the distinction of being the first Ugandan musician to captivate audiences in Doha, Qatar. Scheduled to headline the inaugural "Geosteady Live In Concert" on September 8, 2017, at the Imperial Royale Hotel in Kampala, he also has performances slated for Las Vegas, London, and Istanbul.
His record label goes by the moniker Blackman.
PHILANTHROPIC ENDEAVORS
In addition to his musical pursuits, Geosteady serves as a Brand Ambassador for Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU), a youth-led organization dedicated to empowering young people in Uganda by providing them with essential health information to make informed decisions. Furthermore, he recently initiated the St. George Foundation Uganda (SGFU), a charitable endeavor aimed at supporting children and nurturing their holistic development.
