  • Moses Ssali, known by his stage name "Bebe Cool," is a multifaceted figure in Uganda, celebrated as an artist, songwriter, record producer, actor, and the CEO of the Gagamel crew. Alongside his artistic endeavors, he holds roles as a devoted father and husband to Zuena Kirema. Born on September 1, 1977, to Jaberi Bidandi Ssali, he emerged onto the music scene in Nairobi, Kenya, around 1997, later returning to his birthplace, Uganda. Bebe Cool's pioneering spirit led him to collaborate with the esteemed Kenyan record label and production house, Ogopa DJs.

Notable collaborations include forming the East African Bashment Crew with Kenyan duo Necessary Noize, producing hits like "Africa Unite" and "Fire" from their album "Fire," which earned them a nomination at the 2008 MTV Africa Music Awards.

    His influence extends beyond Uganda's borders, as evidenced by his participation in events like the "Battle for Africa" alongside Nigerian musician D'banj in Zimbabwe. His remake of the late Philly Lutaaya's "Born in Africa" was recognized as one of Africa's top songs, cementing his legacy as a musical luminary.

    Despite controversies surrounding his political affiliations and clashes with fellow musician Bobi Wine, Bebe Cool remains an influential figure in the industry, annually curating the "Bebe Cool List" to spotlight standout musicians and songs.
